Starting on Monday, I’m going to be trying something different with Phro Metal’s posting schedule. Basically, I’ll be posting FULL stories on Mondays and then doing some blogging (or, more accurately, rambling) about…stuff. Mostly I’ll be talking about writing and science fiction, I imagine, though I haven’t really thought too hard about that aspect yet. I’m hoping that this will allow me to produce better stories and that it will be more enjoyable for readers. Let me know how you find the experience.

I discovered Beats Antique last week while cruising bandcamp (is that a thing? I think it’s a thing). Their music is tagged with, among other things, gypsy music and dubstep. Now, if the word “dubstep” makes you reach for your vomit bag, I would strongly encourage you to give this a chance anyway. Some of the songs us a bit too many brass instruments for my tastes, but overall it’s a very interesting sound.

I remember mentioning — way back when Phrometal was new — that I liked the idea of serial stories. I still do, but with time constraints, I usually only end up reading all three parts at one time later (sometimes even a week or so later). Anyway, you do what you need to do, and I’ll keep reading whenever stuff is added.
I still like the idea of serial posts…but looking at how other fiction sites work, posting full stories seems better. Also, I think people are busy enough that posting everything at once makes for easier reading. And, this is probably the biggest reason, when I go back and make edits, it’s much easier to edit one document than sort through the various posts and the PDF. This way I only have one thing to worry about for each story. That’s kind of a crappy reason, I think, but I will try it for a few weeks and see how it goes.
