Well, good morning and happy Saturday! I hope you had a good week and have a good weekend planned! I’m going to sleep a lot, probably…
Anyway, this week’s story, Samantha’s Pesky Crush, is all finished up! In case you haven’t read it yet or you’d like a nice convenient file to carry around with you, here’s the PDF! Have fun with it! (Try not to give it any diseases though, especially if you’re gonna share with others.)
And why don’t you listen to some music as well? There was some talk over at No Clean Singing about rap metal, which put me in a mood for Rage Against the Machine. Their cover album is actually one of my favorite RatM albums, so here’s the video for “Renegades of Funk.”

The album art on every album (one assumes every album) says that they didn’t use any synthesised or sampled sounds at all – or something to that effect. But, one still wonders about the truth of that statement, especially when one hears the break at 02:50 in their version of “Renegades of Funk”. HOW DO THEY DO IT?!
I think that most of the weird sounds were done with pedals… Which sound do you mean?
One does know of the effect pedals, and one has seen & heard cover bands quite closely replicating the sounds. Despite that, one does doubt sometimes that all those weird sounds originate from the guitar, and that the drums are not being played by a drum machine.
I can appreciate that.
But I like to think it’s all just them.
Though I’m not sure how much different some pedals are from synthesizers…
